Good news! You can now use your HSA/FSA to shop Onnit through Truemed—making it easier to invest in your health with pre-tax dollars.

 

One-Time Purchases

Step 1: Checkout as guest
If prompted, close the identity verification pop-up to continue.

Step 2: Choose Truemed as your payment method
Select Truemed – Pay with HSA/FSA during checkout. You’ll also find it under “Alternative Payment Methods.”

Step 3: Complete the health assessment
Answer a short, private health survey. A licensed provider will review your responses to determine eligibility. If approved, you’ll receive a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) within 1–2 days. The cost is included in your purchase price.

Step 4: Make your purchase
Pay with your HSA/FSA card, debit card, or credit card.

  • If you use a debit/credit card, follow the instructions in your LMN to submit your receipt for reimbursement.

Step 1: Make your purchase
Complete checkout with your preferred payment method—but do not use your HSA/FSA card at checkout.

Step 2: Complete the health assessment
Check your confirmation screen or receipt email for a link to the Truemed survey.

  • The survey must be completed the same day as your purchase.

  • A licensed provider will review your answers. If approved, you’ll receive your LMN within 1–2 days (cost included in your purchase price).

Step 3: Submit for reimbursement
Use the guide provided with your LMN to file your claim with your HSA/FSA provider. Most reimbursements are processed within 2–4 weeks.

How does using my HSA/FSA save me money?
You can use pre-tax dollars for eligible health expenses, which gives you more value for every dollar spent.

Can I pay with a regular credit card?
Yes. For one-time purchases, Truemed will email instructions on how to submit your receipt for HSA/FSA reimbursement. For subscriptions, your LMN will include a guide for reimbursement.

What’s a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN)?
An LMN is a doctor’s note that confirms your purchase qualifies as a medical expense under IRS rules. Truemed handles this for you.

Are there fees?
No—Truemed is free to use with partner merchants like Onnit.

Do my FSA/HSA dollars expire?

  • HSA funds roll over year to year.

  • FSA funds usually expire December 31—use them or lose them!

How long does it take to get my LMN?
Most letters are issued within 2–5 hours, but allow up to 1–2 days.

Can I use Truemed if I don’t have an HSA/FSA or live outside the U.S.?
Not at this time—Truemed is only available to U.S. customers with an active HSA/FSA.
